Southern Pho is in a strip mall but I rarely judge a restaurant by the outside as I often find hidden gems in the most unlikely and ugly buildings. This place is one of those gems - at least for flavor.
I love Pho. Not just a little. A LOT. The selections were plentiful, they just didn't have the things I really like listed on the menu like tripe and tendons. So, I opted for the Bun Bo Hue (#9), shrimp and pork spring rolls, and a Thai tea.
I guess I didn't read enough about the Tea as it came out as a Bubble Tea - I'm just not into tapioca pearls but it was good tea. The spring rolls had flavorful shrimp and pork, not just bland fillers. It was severed with a ginger and peanut sauce.
The soup was VERY good. Most Vietnamese places tone down the sour in this type of soup; but not here and it made everything work even better. I wasn't expecting so much meat and noodles. It was huge and I couldn't finish it all. The spice level was just right for me.
The place is a little run down. But there must be a good weekend entertainment run as there is a Karaoke setup in the corner. The service was great and I was welcomed to return. Which is nice, you don't get that a lot anymore.
It's a recommend for me. If I pass this way again, I will make an effort to return. -

If the food was even a little decent, it may have overshadowed the horrible service. Where shall we start? The broth tasted like hot spit, dumpster juice, and bad decisions. The service, believe it or not was even worse. Waited 15 minutes for drinks, server finally comes to table and unapologetically doesn't give a PHOK. If you want terrible waitstaff and subpar food, this is your spot.

Food was fresh and our Pho dishes were so big that we couldn't finish them! Next time, we will get smaller portions.
The restaurant was decorated nicely, and our service was prompt. -

Pho L'Amour used to be my spot until the new owners took over and ruined everything. I thought all was lost until I discovered this place. Broth was flavorful and the small size was loaded with meat and noodles, I can't imagine ordering the large! Fried spring rolls were fresh and delicious. We will be back and we can't wait for when they start serving Bahn mi! This is my new pho spot for sure.

Among the pho restaurants in the city it's in the top 3 for me. But it's a little mom and pop place. I believe the uncle is the one in the back cooking. They have food for all types. We took the kids here and they loved the southern fried rice.
